KYPHOSIS

Kyphosis is a spinal condition characterized by an excessive outward curvature of the thoracic spine, leading to a rounded or hunched posture.

Causes :-
  • Poor Posture: Slouching or maintaining an improper posture over time can contribute to kyphosis
  • Degenerative Conditions: Conditions like osteoporosis, arthritis, or disc degeneration can affect the spine’s structure and contribute to kyphosis
  • Congenital factors
  • Scheuermann’s Disease: A condition where the vertebrae grow unevenly during adolescence, leading to an exaggerated forward curve in the spine
  • Neuromuscular Disorders
  • Injuries or fractures

Symptoms :-
  • Round Back or Hunched Posture
  • Back pain
  • Stiffness
  • Fatigue
  • Muscles weakness
  • Nerve compression symptoms

Treatment :-
  • Postural Exercises: Strengthening exercises focusing on improving posture and alignment can be beneficial. This often includes exercises to strengthen the muscles of the back and core
  • Stretching Exercises: Targeted stretches for the chest and front of the shoulders can help counteract the forward curvature of the spine
  • Core Strengthening
  • Flexibility Exercises
  • Breathing Exercises
  • Pain Management Techniques
