Diabetic Neuropathy is nerve damage that can occur in people with diabetes.
  • Peripheral neuropathy is a type of nerve damage that typically affects the feet and legs and sometimes affects the hands and arms.
  • Autonomic neuropathy is damage to nerves that control your internal organs.

Symptoms :-
  • Tingling
  • Numbness (which may become permanent)
  • Burning (especially in the evening)
  • Bloating
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Heartburn
  • Blacking out when you stand up quickly
  • Faster heartbeat
  • Dizziness
  • Low blood pressure

Causes :-
  • High blood pressure
  • Metabolic factor
  • Inherited factor

Examination :-
  • Check muscle strength and reflexes
  • Check muscle sensitivity to position, vibration, temperature and light touch
  • Ultrasound
  • Electromyography
  • Nerve conduction
  • Nerve and muscle biopsy

Physiotherapy Treatment :-
  • Flexibility exercise
  • Muscle strengthening
  • Aerobic activity
  • Gait training
  • Posture and balance training
  • Splinting
